Day 1 – Singapore/Istanbul/Bucharest

Assemble at Changi International Airport for your flight to Bucharest via Istanbul.

Day 2 – Bucharest

Upon arrival at Bucharest, meet your guide and coach for a city tour. Today you will get acquainted with the Romanian capital. You will visit the Parliament Palace, the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon and the Village Museum, also called “Romania in a nut shell”. Proceed to the Romanian Athenaeum, the Opera House, the National Military Club, the Military Academy and the Triumphal Arch. Chinese lunch and dinner at local restaurant.

Day 3 – Bucharest – Bran Brasov
After breakfast, depart to Bran where you’ll visit the Bran Castle. The castle was built by the merchants from Brasov, in the 14th century, to protect the border between Valahia and Transylvania. Continue to Brasov, where the rich Saxon merchants lived. The highlights of the city tour is a visit to the Black Church, the largest gothic style church in South-Eastern Europe and also visit St. Nicholas Church and First Romanian School. Lunch and dinner at local restaurant.

Day 4 – Brasov – Sinaia – Slanic – Bucharest
After breakfast, depart to Sinaia. Visit the Peles Castle, an exquisite piece of architecture. Enter the Sinaia monastery, the first beautiful Valahian-Byzantine style building. Continue to Slanic to visit the famous Salt Mine, known as the biggest salt mines in Europe. The salt mine is formed out of 14 rooms, 10m at the ceiling and 45m height. Continue to Bucharest. Lunch at local restaurant and dinner with folklore show in Bucharest.

Day 5 – Bucharest – Rousse – Veliko Turnov
After breakfast, depart to Bulgaria. Visit the Urban Lifestyle Museum which keeps a delightful collection of furniture and accessories from 19th century. Arrive at Rousse, known as “Little Vienna” for its Neoclassicism style of buildings. The Statue of Liberty, in honor of the Russian Liberators, is one of the city’s main highlights. Drive further to Veliko Turnovo, capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. Continue to Samovodene Market, where skillful master-goldsmiths, potters, wood-carvers and weavers sell exquisite objects.

Day 6 – Veliko Turnovo – Kazanlak – Plovdiv
After breakfast, city tour of Veliko Turnovo with its stone houses perched over the banks of the Yantra River. Visits to Tzarevets Hill with ruins from the King’s Palace and the Mediaeval Fortress and tour of the old town. Depart to Etura architectural and ethnographic complex. Drive further to Kazanluk – small town located in the world’s only Valley of Roses, known as the Valley of the Thracian Kings. In the afternoon, visit the Rose Museum with presentation of the 350-year old history of Bulgarian rose growing and oil-production industry. Continue to a brief visit of the local History and the world’s famous Kazanluk Tomb (UNESCO site). Drive away to Plovdiv – one of the most ancient cities in Europe.

Day 7 – Plovdiv – Sofia
After breakfast, city tour of Plovdiv where you will find lasting and indelible marks from the Thracians, Romans, Byzantines, Turks and Bulgarians. Proceed for walking tour of the Old Town of Plovdiv with its unique charm. Visits to Sts. Konstantin and Helena Church, the Roman Amphitheatre and the Ethnographic exhibition. Drive to Bachkovo Monastery – the second largest monastery in Bulgaria. Continue to Sofia. Dinner in a Chinese restaurant.

Day 8 – Sofia
After breakfast, city tour of Sofia – the capital of Bulgaria and one of the oldest cities in Europe – with 7,000 years of history. Visits to the Ruins of Serdica – Roman fortress walls, St. George Rotunda – one of the oldest monuments in the capital, St. Sofia Church – one of the symbols of Sofia, St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, and many more historic sites. In the afternoon, time for leisure or shopping. Dinner in a traditional restaurant.

Day 9 – Sofia – Rila – Skopje
After breakfast, depart for Rila Monastery – UNESCO list of World Heritage, the biggest in Bulgaria and Balkan Peninsula. Begin the tour of the Monastery estate with its lavish collection of precious old icons, manuscripts, etc. Being an inaccessible fortress from the outside, behind its heavy gates, it reveals a totally different world of exquisite architecture with arches and columns, 1200 outdoor murals, sunlit verandahs and old fountains. After lunch, continue on to the Bulgarian- Macedonian border and depart for Skopje.

Day 10 – Skopje – Ohrid
Begin the day with a sightseeing tour of Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. Visit the church St Spas, the most famous church in Skopje built in the 17th century. We will also be visiting the birth house of Mother Teresa (memorial stone). Proceed to the oldest bridge in Skopje (Stone Bridge) and the Old Town where you can enjoy the Old Bazaar with many antique shops. Continue to the Upper Town at the Kale Fortress for a panoramic view of the city, with the Museum of Macedonia and Mustafa Pasha Mosque just nearby. Lunch in a Chinese restaurant. Drive to Ohrid, a popular tourist resort in Macedonia. Ohrid, an important cultural and spiritual centre classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site. We drive towards the National Park Mavrovo, the biggest National Park in the country famous for its real natural beauty and as a real treasure of flora and fauna wealth. Stopover and visit the Monastery of Jovan Bigorski, one of the most beautiful monasteries in the country. After which, enjoy the numerous shops with the famous Pearls of Ohrid.

Day 11 – Ohrid – Skopje
After breakfast, drive to St. Naum Monastery – one of the most powerful spiritual centre in Balkans. The place offers spectacular view of Ohrid and the surroundings. Drive back to Ohrid for a walking tour through the cobblestone streets of the old town. Visit the St. Sofia Cathedral, large and most magnificent preserved monument of church architecture. Proceed to St. Clement, a classic Orthodox Byzantine church. Visit St. Jovan Kaneo, providing spectacular panoramic views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Continue to Struga – an old settlement situated on the Northern part of the Lake Ohrid. Depart to Vevcani, one of the most picturesque villages in the Struga region, situated in the foot of Mountain Jablanica. After lunch in a traditional Macedonian house, visit the beautiful Vevcani Springs – a monument of the nature, located 936m above the sea level. Return to Skopje. Dinner in a folklore restaurant with music.

Day 12 – Skopje/Istanbul/Singapore
